Etta Skaggs
1929 - 2018

Etta Riddlebarger Skaggs, 89 of Wheelersburg, Ohio, celebrated Christmas with her Lord on December 24, 2018 at the Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Wheelersburg, Ohio. She was born in Minford, Ohio to Ora Wells and Esta Kallner Wells on July 24, 1929 and was the fifth of six children. Etta was an avid gardener throughout her life, worked as a buyer for the children’s department of Marting’s Department Store, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by Virgil Skaggs and the father of her children, Howard Riddlebarger; three brothers, Isaac Wells, Major Jack Wells and Clarence Wells and two sisters, Velda Pfleger and Violet Owens. Etta is survived by her three children and their spouses, Jill (Jerry) Knight of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Mark (Susie) Riddlebarger of Portsmouth, Ohio and Edwin (Suzanne) Riddlebarger of Winchester, KY, five grandchildren, Amanda Knight, Lindsey Riddlebarger, Alyson Riddlebarger, Cheyenne Riddlebarger and Colter Riddlebarger, one great-grandchild Gwendolyn Riddlebarger, and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29th, at 10:30AM at Harrison Pyles Funeral Home. The family would like to thank those at Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation who gave their love and compassion. Visitation will be held at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home on Friday, December 28th from 5:00-7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation be made for the ministry and devotion given to Etta by Oscar and Betty Perry to Fairview Baptist Church 1625 Piketon Road Lucasville, Ohio.
