Luther “Dean” Prince

Franklin Furnace-Luther “Dean” Prince, 84, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. Dean was born March 22, 1934 in Scioto County to the late Sherman and Lora Holbrook Prince. He was a member of Laborers Local 83 and worked as a Laborer. Dean attended Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene and he was an Army veteran serving during the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Wayne Thompson. Dean is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Dyer Prince whom he married July 22, 1977 in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Also surviving are four daughters, Cathy (Mark) Gleim, Deana (Jon) Hager, Kim (Andy) Lester and Bonnie (Jeff) Smith; one brother, William Prince; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Andy Ramey officiating. Interment will follow in Haverhill Cemetery.
