Betty June Daniels

MONROE, NC- Betty June Daniels, 95, of Monroe, NC passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Hospice of Union County, Monroe, NC. Betty was born July 16, 1924 in Catlettsburg, KY to the late Oliver Jennings and Lula Mae Alley Maynard. She graduated from Jefferson High School Class of 1942. Betty was a World War II Navy Wave assisting in Base Hospital/Airplane Hangar detail in Millington, TN and she was a member of Wheelersburg United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Charles, Curtis, William, Donald and Glen Maynard and sisters, Edith Caraway and Patricia Maynard. She is survived by two sons, Darryl (Brenda) Daniels and Dennis (Cathy) Daniels; a daughter, Dawna Daniels (Matthew Geske); a sister, Glorianna Opell; six grandchildren, Heather Lynn Rice, Chad Austin Daniels, Dustin Whitt Daniels, Samantha Elle Alexander, Phillip Cole Daniels and Katharine Ella Geske.

Services will be noon Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 11:00 am until the noon service hour on Saturday. Interment will be in Catlettsburg, Kentucky cemetery with Military graveside rites conducted by Kenova Post #93 American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Betty's name to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110 or any children's charity of your choice.
