Richard Lee “Creed” Thomas

WHEELERSBURG-Richard Lee “Creed” Thomas, 73, of Wheelersburg, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at his residence. Creed was born January 25, 1947 in Franklin Furnace to the late Paul Anderson Thomas and Mary Jane Valentine Thomas. He was a Green High School graduate, class of 1967 and was employed at CSX Railroad as a Welder. He pastored Christ Victory Church in Bloomington, OH until his retirement. In addition to his parents, Creed was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Loretta Pierron Thomas on December 27, 2016, whom he married August 7, 1971 in Wheelersburg. He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Elenor Thomas, Irene Kerns, Annabelle Hacker, Donna Sue Stapleton and Charlotte Carver and a brother, Andrew Thomas. Creed is survived by a son, Andrew Creed Thomas, (Crystal Webb); two daughters, Cheryl (Greg) Conkey and Angela (Roy) Beadle; four brothers, Paul “Hoot” Thomas, John R. Thomas, Robert “Bugsey” Thomas, Darrell “Tugboat” Thomas and three sisters, Hazel Brown, Barbara Spriggs, Evelyn Blevins; nine grandchildren and one great grandchildren.

Services for Creed will be 11:00 am Friday, December 11, 2020 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Leonard Roop officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, December 10, 2020 and one hour before the service on Friday. Due to COVID restrictions masks or face coverings are required.
