Elwood (Eddie) Lawrence Green

WHEELERSBURG-Marine Veteran, Lance Corporal Elwood (Eddie) Lawrence Green won a hard-fought battle and is now pain free and in peace with his Lord and Savior. Eddie was born Aug. 24, 1946. His earthly battle was won on June 30th, 2021 at Hospice in Ports. He is reunited in death with his wife, Thelma Green (of what would have been 49 years of marriage this October), his mother and father; William and Helen Green, brothers; William Green II, and Arthur (Art) Green, sister; Joyce Knapp, sister-in-law; Donna Green. Special Nephews Billy Green and Charlie Floyd. Surviving are his two children: Tonya (Darin) Porter and Elwood Lee Green (who was his main caregiver for the past 5 years); one Brother: Jerry Green; one sister; Linda Davis; two sisters-in-law; Ruthann (Green) Longbottom and Sharon Floyd; three granddaughters; Kaleigh (Baylee) Moore, Sydney Meredith Porter and Brooke (Daniel) Warbelton; one grandson; Austin (Miranda Jordan) Green; grandson-in-law; Kyle Cline; three great-granddaughters; Maelyn Cline, Avery Jordan and Braelynn Warbelton;, great-grandson; Bentley Warbelton….and a set of twin boys due in November; Charlee Reed Moore and Porter Banks Moore…that Pap said he already loved. He was also survived by many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends that he loved dearly and he always made sure we knew he loved all of his “Cincinnati” family too. He took pride in being a Vietnam Marine Veteran, where he fought on the front lines of the war and earned two Purple Hearts. He also had a passion for Semi Trucks and met some great friends through that hobby. Everyone loved Eddie. He had a way of making everyone feel special. He had a special bond with many people. It’s been an honor having him in our lives. Our lives have been greatly enriched by having him close to us. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Graveside services for Eddie will be 12:30 pm Monday, July 5, 2021 at Clapboard Cemetery with Pastor Roy Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg 10:00 am until 12:00 noon Monday July 5, 2021. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
