Mary Lucille Besco

WHEELERSBURG- Mary Lucille (Fout) Messer Besco, 92, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the home she shared with her daughter, Beverly. Mary was born July 15, 1929, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Chester Arthur Fout and Eva Turvey Fout. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlos Messer on March 7, 1963. Mary and Carlos were married on March 9, 1946 and during their 17-year marriage, they had two daughters, Connie Messer Ison and Beverly Messer Wright. Mary was preceded in death by her second husband, Thomas Besco on September 16, 1986. Mary was also preceded in death by nine siblings, Walter Fout, Rosa Fout, Arthur Fout and Raymond Fout by her father’s first marriage and Frances Viola (Fout) Crabtree, William Benton Fout, Soulman Ellsworth Fout, Charles Ogal Fout and Freddie Smith Fout. She was also preceded in death by two sons-in- law, Johnnie Ison and Rev. Michael Gale Wright; one great-grandson, Andrew Rawlins; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Sue Wright and one great-great grandson Emmett King. Mary worked at Williams Shoe Factory for several years. She was a member of Dogwood Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union. Mary was a homemaker and she enjoyed quilting, gardening and embroidering. Through the years Mary made quilts for her family. Mary was a member of the Eastern Star, Porter Grange, Homemakers Club, Slocum Flower Club, Veterans and Vernon Seniors. She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Messer Ison of Minford and Beverly Messer Wright of Wheelersburg; five grandchildren, Cindy (Ison) Comer of Minford, Johnnie (Christine) Ison of Minford, Debra (Forrest) Rawlins of Wheelersburg, Bryan (Teresa) Wright of Ashville, Ohio and Stephanie (John) McQuithy of Wheelersburg; thirteen great- grandchildren; Britton Morris and Benton Comer, Sean, Shelby, Jared and Jessica Ison, Nathan and Aaron Rawlins and Marybeth Skaggs, Isaac and Caleb Wright, Hannah McQuithy and Katie (McQuithy) Wheeler; eight great-great grandchildren, Emma and River Morris, Laylan, Kason and Aiden King, Jackson Dixon, Everly and Emmett Wheeler, Kailyn Rawlins; one sister Julia (Fout) Byrd Carl of Canton, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Mary will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Rev. Chad Burn officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00- 8:00 pm at the funeral home Tuesday, July 20, 2021 and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
