Carl “Bud” Edward Nolen

WHEELERSBURG-Carl “Bud” Edward Nolen, 89, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at River Run Health Center in Coal Grove, OH. Bud was born December 17, 1932, in Louisa, KY to the late Herbert Nolen and Louise Damron Nolen. Bud was a member of IBEW 575 and was employed as an Electrician. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bud was an avid Wheelersburg sports fan and was very involved with the start up of Wheelersburg Little League. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Estel and Eugene; two sisters, Barbara Ramey and Mae Hall and a grandson, Joseph Carl. Bud is survived by his wife, Patricia Sue Phipps Nolen whom he married April 4, 1969 in Chicago, IL. Bud is also survived by three sons, Marvin (Sandy) Nolen, Dale Nolen and Scott Nolen; two daughters, Mendy Nolen and Tiffany Nolen; five sisters, Charlene Holley, Arene Russell, Geneva Burkart, Ruth Ann Holley and Patty Hale; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Services for Bud will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment with Navy Military Honors will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North East, 100 Veterans Memorial Drive, Greenup County, KY. The family will receive friends and family 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home Tuesday, September 20, 2022 and one hour before the 11:00 am service on Wednesday.
