Frances “June” Cheek Wooten

New Albany, IN-Frances “June” Cheek Wooten, 96, of New Albany, IN formerly of Portsmouth, OH passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Bennett Place in New Albany. June was born June 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Dean and Nellie Collins Cheek. June retired from GTE with 38 years of service. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wooten, May 31, 1980, whom she married July 9, 1949. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Eugene, and Max Cheek and three sisters, Irene Reinhardt, Edith Joplin, and Dolores Clinebell. June is survived by a brother, Paul Cheek of Virginia Beach, VA, and two sisters, Margaret “Joan” Tallman and Beverly DeCamp both of Wheelersburg and several nieces and nephews.

Services for June will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
