Jeffery Scott Maynard

Jeffery Scott Maynard, 68 born March 11th, 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio passed away at Southern Ohio Medical Center on Friday September 22, 2023 in the presence of his niece Stephanie Maynard-Hollinger and a close friend Sharon Barber. He was the late son of Buddy BI Maynard and Doris Carpenter. Jeff was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and studied a few years at Shawnee State University.

Jeff lived out west in Colorado for several years working as a carpenter. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and was an avid mountain climber. In his leisure time he enjoyed learning about the history of trains. Recently Jeff enjoyed spending his past time on his computer.

Jeff is survived by his niece Stephanie Maynard-Hollinger (Benjamin) of Wheelersburg, Ohio, his cousins Connie Chandler, Beverly Clutters, Deanna Milum all of Ceredo, West Virginia, Andi Miller of North Caroline and Mike Maynard near the Columbus area. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by a brother, Greggery Thomas Maynard.

A private burial did take place on Wednesday September 27th, 2023 at the Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg directed by Harrison-Pyle’s Funeral Home. Jeff will be laid to rest by his mother Doris Carpenter.

The family will receive friends at the Porter Township Community Center at 408 Bulwer Street Wheelersburg, Ohio on Saturday October 7th, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm.
