Thomas Joe Spergin

HAVERHILL-Thomas Joe Spergin, 76, of Haverhill, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. Thomas was born May 5, 1947 in Logan, Ohio to the late Everett Spergin and Geraldine Peyton Spergin. Thomas has a bachelor’s degree and was employed as an Ironworker out of Local 769, Ashland, KY. He was a member of Ohio Furnace Enterprise Baptist Church. Thomas was an avid fisherman and loved to play with his grandkids. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Kaye Lavender Spergin, October 21, 2019, whom he married October 30, 1971 in Ohio Furnace and a sister, Candace Sooy. Thomas is survived by two sons, Randall Spergin (Tonya) and Joseph Spergin (Melissa); a daughter, Jacqueline Skeans (Keith); nine grandchildren, Jeremiah Wojtal (Kerrsti), Shawn Spergin, PJ Winters (Ashley), Hannah Spergin, Jocee Conkey (Jeb), Chad Skeans (Mary), Jennifer Skeans, Josh Skeans and Jason Skeans and twelve great grandchildren.

Services for Thomas will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Gary Arthurs and Pastor Roger Lavender officiating. Interment will be in Haverhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00-8:00 pm Tuesday and one hour before the 11:00 am service on Wednesday.
