PATASKALA, OH-Lona Tuner, 99, of Pataskala, Ohio, formerly of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at her home. Lona was born October 9, 1924 in Wayne County, WV to the late Walter Adkins and Dora Fortner Adkins. Lona was a self-employed farmer and a Catholic. In addition to her parents, Lona was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Turner September 17, 2006, whom she married January 18, 1949 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Wheelersburg. She was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Turner and four brothers, Lawson, Lucian, Walter Jr. and Henry. Lona is survived by two sons, Harold (Marylin) Turner and Jim Turner; a daughter, Bonnie (Matthew) Davis; a sister, Lilly Glascoe; five grandchildren, Angie (John) Nicholson, Maria (James) Mathers, Kristie (Jason) Johnson, Wayne (Kelly) Davis and Jeremiah (Holly) Davis and twelve great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lona will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Gideon officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter in Chains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, 9:30 am to 10:30 am Saturday.
