Edgar Maynard
1933 - 2025

Edgar Jack Maynard Jr. 91, of Wheelersburg, Ohio went to be with the Lord Friday, February 7, 2025. Born July 17, 1933 in Stiltner, West Virginia, the oldest son to the late Edgar and Efy Maynard. He was a longtime member of the Sciotoville Christian Church, served in the United States Marine Corps, maintained all of the fire and rescue equipment for Porter Township, and retired from Detroit Steel and the New Boston Coke Corporation after 43 years. He loved traveling with his wife and pets in the motorcoach, working on all things mechanical, and cherished his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Grace, one daughter, Diane (Gary) Gilliam, two grandsons, Tony and Todd Gilliam, all of West Jefferson, OH. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Michael) Patten of Franklin Furnace, Grandson, Bryan Maynard, Granddaughter, Jacqueline (Christopher) Hickman both of Wheelersburg, four great grandchildren, Kyle and Kaylee Gilliam of Columbus, Alexis and Samuel Hickman of Wheelersburg, Brother, Henry Van (Kris) Maynard of Whittier, CA, Sister Kay (Chuck) Nordstom of San Diego, CA, Nephews, Henry Van, Edgar Jack, Harold Karl Maynard and Greg and Jeff Nordstrom.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, February 17, 2025 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, OH with Steve Falls officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 12.
