Ronald Lee Crawford-AKA β€œCaptain Ron”

PORTSMOUTH-Ronald Lee Crawford, AKA β€œCaptain Ron”, 70 of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Best Care Health & Rehab Center in Wheelersburg. Ron was born January 15, 1955 in Portsmouth to Myrtle Lethlie Jordan Crawford and the late William James Crawford. Ron was employed as a concrete finisher and N&W. He was active in NHRA racing and boating and belonged to Sciotoville Boat Club and Holiday Point Boat Club. In addition to his mother, Ron is survived by his wife, Sheilah Boggs Crawford, whom he married on June 18, 1977 in Sciotoville; a son, Kyle Crawford; a daughter, Cortny Howard; a brother, Mike Crawford; three sisters, Pat Yost, Kristi Kirsh and Cindy McQuay and five grandchildren, Brooklyn Crawford, Brycen Hackworth, Taylor, Daniel and Drake Howard.

The family will receive friends at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The private family interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.

Sheila and family, So sorry for the loss of Ron. We just now saw the obit otherwise would have came to visitation today. Have alot of wonderful memories from high school and it was nice seeing him while camping at Big Bear a few years back. Will be keeping all of you in my thoughts in the days ahead.

Sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I enjoyed knowing him at Holiday Point for many years. He was good company, whether working hard or playing hard. We never found any common ancestors, although my branch had a 19th century farm in Chesapeake.
