Paul Wagner
1926 - 2025
Paul White Wagner
PORTSMOUTH formerly of Wheelersburg-Our beloved father, Paul White Wagner, 99, went to be with his heavenly father Monday, June 2, 2025. Paul was surrounded by his loving, proud family. Dad was one of the original founding members of the Porter Township Fire Department. He started Wagner Implement with his family eventually becoming Wagner Rental & Supply. Dad believed in honesty, hard work and sealing the deal with a handshake. He retired in 1987 but still had an influence many years after. Dad was a people person. He greeted people for 35 years at Wheelersburg Methodist Church and for the past 10 years he was a greeter in the lobby at SOMC. His hugs were legend and a blessing to all who received them. Paul married the love of his life Adah in 1950. They were married 65 years until her passing in 2015. Family was paramount in Mom and Dad’s life. He was so proud of his boys, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved BIG, and many were blessed to receive that love.
Paul was born February 14, 1926 in Scioto County to the late Fred E. Wagner and Garnet White Wagner. He was a World War II, US Air Corps veteran and a member of Wheelersburg Methodist Church. In addition to his parents and his wife Adah, Paul was preceded in death by a son, Mike Wagner; two brothers, Fred and Richard; Eleanor, Audrey; Jean Wood, Dale and a sister-in-law Alma and her husband Howard Lemon. Paul is survived by three sons, Dave (Lanette) Wagner, Dan (Tammy) Wagner and Tim (Karen) Wagner; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Wagner; eleven grandchildren, Aaron (Gia), Jessica (Shane), Brandon, Chase Summer, Paul, Kevin Leslie, Amanda, Allie, Kara Beth (Eli), Derek, and Ashley and thirteen great grandchildren.
Services for Paul will be 11:00 am Friday, June 6, 2025 at Wheelersburg Methodist Church in Wheelersburg with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday, June 5, 2025 and at the church one hour before the 11:00 am service on Friday. The family has requested Memorial contributions be donated to SOMC Hospice in Paul’s name. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.

You will truly be missed. From the time we spent together greeting people at SOMC. I will miss all the stories and being your eyes and ears. You didn't have to go behind the barn and get shot...if you know Mr. Wagner you will understand the story behind this. Just know you were my friend "Old Man". Missing you. Pal

To the Wagner family, Paul was beyond a friend to me. Paul was a mentor and one of the bigger influences in my life to date. I love him dearly and grateful our paths crossed.

Heaven just got a little sweeter. Can’t wait till we hug again! And just think … He can SEE us coming and he won’t have to wait for my funny voice to know who I am.
