1952 - 2026
James T. Young, 73, of Grand Bay, AL, formerly of Fostoria, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 at his daughter’s home in Fostoria. He was born August 19, 1952 in Portsmouth, Ohio to James W. & Peggy (DeCamp) Young. He married Elizabeth M. Ewing on March 25, 1971 in Greenup, KY.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Young, children John T. (Tammy Kilpatrick) Young, Jeremy (Lisa) Young, Eve (Joel) Crabtree, brothers Doug, Steve, Michael & David Young & Todd (Cindy) Runion, sisters Doris Schmidt, Barb Maple, grandchildren Taylor Hazelton, Gavin Reichenbaugh, Samuel Crabtree, Matthew Crabtree, Xavier Young, Derek Runion, great grandchildren Sidney, Trevor, Kyle, Silas, Romy & many nieces & nephews.
James is preceded in death by his parents, nieces & nephews.
Jim was a 1970 graduate of Wheelersburg High School & attended William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS. He retired in 2015 from the N&S Railway where he worked as a conductor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Moss Point, MS. He was a member of the Redmen Club, enjoyed golfing and was a member of Whispering Pines Gold Club, Hurley, MS. Jim enjoyed cooking for his family. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, Ohio from 3-7 p.m. Visitation will also be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 Whitey’s Music Barn 172B Park St. Wheelersburg, Ohio 45694 from 3-8 p.m. & 1 hour prior to services Thursday. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Whitey’s Music Barn. Burial will be at Haverhill Cemetery, Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church in Moss Point, MS or the American Cancer Society.
