Michael Gale Darnell
FRANKLIN FURNACE-Michael Gale Darnell, 82, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Michael was born December 5, 1941 in Greenup, KY to the late Samuel Darnell and Bernice Bradley Darnell. Michael was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam and was awarded a Purple Heart. He retired from Armco Steel, and he was a member of Plymouth Heights Church of Nazarene. Michael is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Ann Dyer Darnell, whom he married November 23, 1963 in Franklin Furnace, OH. Michael is also survived by two sons, Shawn (Shelley) Darnell and Aaron (Tonya) Darnell; three brothers, Curt (Juanita) Darnell, Samuel (Kathy) Darnell Jr. and Gary (Kay) Darnell and seven grandchildren, Ally, Jake, Mia, Cole, Kylan, Izzy and Cruz.
Services for Michael will be 11:00 am Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Military graveside services will be in Haverhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday and one hour before the 11:00 am service on Thursday. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
