Barbara Tamanita (Thomas) Spriggs

PORTSMOUTH-Barbara Tamanita (Thomas) Spriggs, 76, of Portsmouth, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at home. Barbara was born February 20, 1948 in Scioto County to the late Paul Andrew Thomas and Mary Jane Valentine Thomas. Barbara had worked at Fountainhead Nursing Home and had also worked for many years at Mitchellace. She was of Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by a grandson, Dawson Canfield, two infant siblings, Andy and Elenor Thomas, a brother, Richard Creed Thomas and sisters, Irene Kerns, Annabelle Hacker, Donna Sue Stapleton, and Charlotte Carver. Barbara is survived by a son, Neal Douglas (Jessica)Phillips; a daughter, Tammy Jo Dillow; four brothers, Paul Hoot Thomas, Johnny Roger Thomas, Bobby Thomas and Darrell Thomas; two sisters, Hazel Brown, Evelyn Blevins; four grandchildren, Cory Canfield (Heather), Cassie Canfield (Matt), Kyleigh Phillips (Jacob) and Dakota Phillips and great grandchildren, Aiden Chandler, Noah Chandler, Parker Chandler, Oakley Canfield, Malayah Canfield, Harlynn Derifield, Colter Derifield and River Crapyou.

Services for Barbara will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Denny Hankins officiating. Interment will be in Junior Furnace Cemetery.
