Walter  SkaggsWalter Skaggs, 83, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born July 23, 1942 in Portsmouth, a son of the late John and Geneva (Westwood) Skaggs. Walter was a delivery driver for Buckeye Potato Chips, was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two sons, Sam (Joyce) Peters, Alen (Colleen) Peters; two daughters, Myrna (Keith) Wamsley, Geneva (Jim) Riley; 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Jesse, Karen, Sarah, Samantha, Alex, Adam, Mike, Sydney; 15 great grandchildren, and one brother, George Skaggs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Dove (Dean) Skaggs on January 2, 1999, and three brothers, John, Larry, and Michael Skaggs.

A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace with Pastor Sam Peters officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.harrison-pyles.com.
