Phyllis Porter
1944 - 2025

Phyllis Jean Porter, 81, of Wheelersburg, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at SOMC Hospice Center, with her family by her side. She was born January 26, 1944, in Portsmouth, OH to the late Freeman Sheridan Porter, and Louise (Hill) Porter.

She was affectionately known by her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Dill”. She was always very generous and loved entertaining and laughing with family members. Phyllis loved the Lord and the beauty of nature. She also authored “A collection of Short Stories” by Phyllis Jean Porter and had items published in The Reader’s Digest.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Lee Bumgardner, and a sister, Judith Lynn (Porter) Bloomfield.

She is survived by a brother James R Porter, Greenville, South Carolina and sisters, Sherry Kay Porter and Betty Jane Davis, Wheelersburg, and by numerous nieces and nephews which were the light of her life.

A private family memorial service will be held at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, OH.
