William "Billy" Gay
1966 - 2025

William William “Billy” Patrick Gay, 59, of Portsmouth, OH passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born January 25, 1966, to the late Melton and Carolyn (Trout) Gay and survived by his wife, Lisa (Lyons) Gay, whom he married April 25, 1992. Billy graduated from Greenup County High School and was a proud veteran, serving his country in the United States Navy. He was a longtime employee of Bob Evans before he became an independent provider with the Department of Developmental Disabilities. Billy loved to fish but absolutely adored his grandchildren and spending all the time he could with them and his family. He was a member of Truth Tabernacle, Wheelersburg, OH, where he loved his church family and will be missed. Whether you knew him as Billy, Wild Bill, Wewillanddeal, or Bassmaster, you knew how much he enjoyed spending time with his longtime clients, John, Jim, and Mittie, and how much he loved looking for that next treasure to sell on eBay. He never tired of bragging about the tales of his fishing adventures. Along with his wife, those left to celebrate his life are two sons: Lacy (Virginia) Gay and Joshua Gay; five daughters: Katie (Robert) Davis, Amy Kiser, Britnie Gay, Jessica Gay and Sarah (Danny) Jenkins; nine grandchildren: Mariah Gay, Grace Gay, Trey Davis, Branson Davis, Josiah Davis, Shelby Davis, Garrett Davis, Oaklynn Kiser and Lainey Kiser; five bonus grandchildren: Israel, Isaiah, Madison, Caden and Westyn; two brothers: his twin brother, Robert (Kim) Gay and Melton Gay Jr; a sister: Darlene (Gary) Payne and several friends and family that will miss him greatly. A funeral service will be 12:00pm, Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Truth Tabernacle, 7601 Ohio River Road, Wheelersburg, OH with Pastor Brian Sisler officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 5:00pm-7:00pm and 11:00am until the time of the service at the Church
