William "Bill" McBrayer
1939 - 2025
William “Bill” Earl McBrayer, 88, of Portsmouth, OH passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at SOMC Hospice Care Center. He was born July 29, 1937, to the late Earl and Lottie (Smith) McBrayer and survived by his wife, Dollie (Thayer) McBrayer, whom he married on June 28, 1958. Bill worked as an electrician for Empire Detroit Steel and was a member of the Western Sun #91 Masonic Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Willard McBrayer and James Robert McBrayer. Along with his wife, those left to celebrate his life are a son: Dr. William Earl (Cindy) McBrayer, Jr; two sisters: Ruth McBrayer and Elnora Blanton; a granddaughter: Grace Elizabeth McBrayer and a close friend of many years, Chester Risner. The family would like to say a special thank you to Resthavens Nursing Home, SOMC Hospice and Samantha for the great care they gave Bill. A funeral service will be 10:30am, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, 11623 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, OH with Pastor Russell Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:00pm-7:00pm and 9:30am until the time of the service, at the funeral home. There will also be Masonic Rites given at 7:00pm on the night of the visitation.
