Nina Mays
1936 - 2026

Nina Earlene Mays, 89, of Portsmouth, OH, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Concord Health and Rehabilitation. She was born August 21, 1936, in Portsmouth, OH to the late Willie and Ivory (Fraley) Craft. Nina loved helping her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who always put a smile on her face. She loved reading her Bible daily, crocheting and giving to family and loved her cats. Nina was also a cancer survivor for over twenty years. She worked at William Shoe Factory in her younger years and retired from Golden Years Nursing Home at the age of 70. She will truly be missed by all that knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: William Mays and Randal Mays; a daughter: Betty Mays; two sisters: Betty Craft and Gladys Craft and three brothers: Earl David Craft, Donald Craft and Willis Craft. Those left to celebrate her life are two sons: Larry (Judy) Mays and John Gregory (Cheryl) Mays; a daughter: Debra (Randall) Craig; three sisters: Shirley Alley, Sylvia (Phil) Adkins and Kathalene Parker; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, 11623 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, OH with Pastor Jared Timberlake officiating. Burial will follow in Old Wheelersburg Cemetery with Donald Craft officiating. Visitation will be 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
