Jeffrey JonesWith profound sadness and unwavering love, we announce the passing of Jeffrey Scott Jones, who went to heaven on July 13th at 10:11 p.m. Jeffrey was a loving husband, father, cherished family member, and loyal friend. He shared 36 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Dana, and will be remembered for the countless lives he touched. His generous spirit, and love for Marshall football will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Jeffrey earned his Master’s Degree and was an administrator for Cabell County Schools. Jeffrey leaves behind his loving wife, Dana, his two beloved daughters, Lauren Mason (Caleb) and Logan Mann (Garrett), and his cherished granddaughters Nora and Charlotte, who were the pride and joy of his life. His love for his family was unwavering, and the memories they created together will be treasured forever. Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Jeffrey is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. His legacy of faith and devotion will continue to live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion have been a tremendous source of comfort. Per Jeffrey’s request, there are no events scheduled at this time. Jeffrey will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten

The obituary leaves out so much. We went to Beverly Hills Jr high and became friends there, always a good friend that I never saw get mad. I worked last 11 years for cabell county schools as a bus driver and saw Jeff several times and always got a wave and a smile even though many years had passed. He is missed already and I am sorry we never got to catch up. May he and all his family fly high and enjoy the memories before the reunion.

Jeff and I were close friends at Huntington East High School, remained friends during our college years, and were friends of the heart as life took us separate ways. Anytime I ran into Jeff, when I was in the Huntington area, it was always full of warmth and joy. I loved my friend Jeff, and my heart is broken to see that his smiling face and spirit is no longer among us. Those chance encounters will be no more. I know about his devastating illness, my uncle passed away from the same, but I loved Jeff's continuing good attitude in FaceBook posts, even though he enjoyed throwing out those political challenging posts! My heart and prayers are with your family for peace, joy in the memories, and comfort now and in the days ahead. The Bible says the only thing that remains is "love," and I have found that to be true. Jeff's love remains in you and all those he touched.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jeff was such a wonderful person and my summer with Stacia and your family are some of my favorite childhood memories. When I did my practicum in Cabell County Schools I was SO nervous starting my first day. Seeing Jeff, a familiar face, made me feel way more at ease (and such a great surprise!). I’ll be thinking of you all during this season of life.
